What a wonderful fall day to spend at the
US National Arboretum (USNA). NCA President Vickie Godwin and friends were able to enjoy the large and comfortable bench which was dedicated 2 years ago during the 50th Anniversary of Fern Valley. What a fabulous project the National Capital Area began back in 1959 under the guidance of Edith Bittinger and Margaret Donnell. They were able to transform an area from invasive vines and plants to a fantastic native plant garden. The first plantings were ferns thus giving the name to this beautiful region of the USNA.
